just ordered up a snorkel a safari one dose any one have any coments of the install of it is it a real pain or farly simple should be here in a week.
-
For the TJ or ZJ, they are gonna be completely different
-
My 06 Rubi was no problem. Biggest issue is if you have aftermarket front fenders the template doesn't line up bang on. But not a big deal. If it's on a Tj get use to loosening off the snorkel at the windshield mount to remove your doors.
-
ya it`s going on my tj and all you need to do is cut the little posts down to 3/4 of an inch and the the door comes off just fine. i`m pretty stocked about the snorkel i hidrolocked my zj 3 time got lucky every time but this tj i`m not taking any chances.
-
i hydrolocked my YJ 2 times. i built a mini snorkel out of pvc. it didnt come out from under the hood. just sucked air from up high at the back of the engine. and then i stopped goin in water which was the best upgrade.

Words of wisdom. There's more to dealing with water than not hydrolocking your engine.

best advice ever................................
the snorkel is great for high water crossings...... cept for the fact that your clutch fan will shear itself off in the deep water, your electrical systems will fry, your diffs/tcase/tranny will all fill with water, and your distributor will most likely kickout after your headlights submerge..................
so ya, snorkels are cool, look cool.................... NOT PRACTICAL unless you do everything else up right
PS, Ryan, if you are trying to sell that ZJ, don't tell people you've hydrolocked it 3 times......... bad selling feature!

hey my snorkel isn't in yet but when i'm do with the template you can have it, i'm hopping it will be here monday.
-
If you don't have a template use a transfer fluid to mark the hole on the fender.
-
Any sort of layout film that you can use to apply to the snorkel that when placed into position transfers onto the fender. Cheap route is a paint pen...

I would really appreciate that thanks!!
All I really need is the the center punch locations for the 3 primary holes.
Let me know when your done, or if you want a hand, I'll be back in town on the 17th/18th.
