fixed my ARB in my D30! i am quite happy with that. however doing up the brakes, at sometime i stripped the threads in teh knckle where the caliper bolt threads into. it won't get tight. now, what should i do to fix this?
i was seriously thinking of putting some JB weld in there, and rethreading the bolt hole....... a buddy of mine also said something about a heli-coil or somthing? basically drill it out, thread the coil in and then retain old caliper bolt.
anyone done this/know where to get it? or have any ideas/
thanks guys.

"some JB weld " Nooooooooooooo...don't use that on brakes...What size bolt is it? On my 98 TJ (D30) I had a stripped bolt as well...used a Helicoil Repair Kit (P/n 5403-8)..thread size was M8x1.25..well worth the investment. I can't remember how much it was..thinking $35.00 or around that from Acklands...Napa may sell kits too possibly a different brand..call the south store 403-212-4633 (5530 3 ST SE ) they seem to stock more .........behind Modern Motors a ways towards Mcleod.
Cheers

thanks eric but i'm good! i picked up said helicoil kit. i must say i'm impressed. took about 5 minutes and its good as new. turns out the upper bolt in my knuckle has also been helicoiled so i guess they work!
thanks guys

I guess this is more common than I thought!
D30 of my old XJ did the same thing...I went to a wrecker and replaced the entire knuckle for $40. ;D

If its good enough for repairs on aircraft...it will be fine for a heep...er I mean jeep

yea i was pretty fumed cause i thought i'd have to replace the whole knuckle, so might as well do new balljoints and rip everything apart AGAIN. .but butty told me about this, kit was 50$ from NAPA. little steep but works. i'll have to do the drivers side at some point too, but i got like, ten lil' coils i'm sure they won't goto waste on other peoples jeeps lol

I think that I will take the knuckls off my old bent front end and throw them in the shed just incase.
