hey so after i hard sick weekend at McLean i had to replace my battery which was tested and cam out "bad battery" i replaced it with a purple haze then driving to work shortly after i was still loosing power. i went home and assumed it was the alternator took it out replaced it and everything is perfect. except my winch has no power going to it so i thought i blew something in it and was pretty upset until i turned my fog lights on and they didn't turn on i put both of these on the same post on my battery and there is no power going to either any tips? or ideas what might be happening?
thanks

Are the winch/lights connected to the same post as every thing else or are you using a battery with 2 sets of posts? if so test the accesories on the post that has been "proven" as being good.
Are there fusable links on the winch or lights? I can't imagine you would blow the fuses to both at the same time but if you haven't already done so check them.
Check the connectors and wires, check the ground, maybe try a different ground location or just use a jumper to a different point to test.
I can't imagine the issue being anything other than it being a bad connection (ground or power) fuses, or bad wire. unless your battery has dual posts, and one of the posts is defective.
-
it has dual posts i tried them both with both accessories neither work the post that my truck is connected to works for everything but the winch and lights and i am pretty sure that my winch doesnt have a fuse but i guess i should look a little more into that.

Anything running power should be fused, chances are you've tapped into the fog light wiring for the winch & when connected blew a fuse?
Check fuses.. Do you have a volt meter or test light handy?
-
i might have a volt meter where would i connect it and to prove what?
-
I would just start with checking all your fuses & if you know what fuse powers the fogs, start their by checking if it's blown. If your fuse is good then your going to have to chase the power wire back from the + post & find out where it cuts out.
-
I should have mentioned if the fuse is good for the fog lights, put the voltmeter to the fuse by grounding one lead to chassis & the other lead probe the fuse, power?

if this is the cause of the battery being dead then there is an open circut somewhere there, check the fuses and follow all the wiring to make sure there isnt a cut/rubbed through wire.
This is what happens when you tow toyata's out of pits all day, ;D

Check out the fusing used here.. this is not the norm. You would think a winch would use a fuse, guess not.. Too high of current I guess..

Why is he using a 200Amp fuse when the winch in going to draw 450ish at full load?
