Too bad they don't sell them to wreckers, look at all those good parts!
-
From what I understand they are only allowed to sell off a few things.... doors, hoods, lights... no drivetrain parts. Also... the vehicles HAVE to be destroyed within 6 months so a lot of them are going straight to the crusher.

should be called cash for gas guzzlers, then it would be better. nice to see most of the SUV types getting put to rest.

I get grief when I talk about not voting
Remember, if you don't vote you can't complain. ;)
Just pick the best of the worst.
If he can't speak english, don't vote for him!
If his last name is Layton, don't vote for him!
If he's from Calgary and his last name is Harper, vote for him! ;D
-
Does creating a spoiled ballot count as voting? I voted, but I might as well shoot a dart. None of them represent my views or interests.
unfortunately Pat this is a common view in Canada and is shown in voter turnouts being at record lows. voting is not a right; it is your one obligation. if everyone who 'didn't give a fawk' got together and voted green, or some other generic party, it'd sweep the house. i worked a polling station last election and my voter turnout for Shawnessy was 25% so by default 75% of albertans are essentially little B@tches and are cool with whatever that small minority vote..... thats not democracy, thats idiocracy.
personally i think there should be a tax/fine invoked for those who don't vote. it'd boost voter turnout and provide incentive for other parties to rise into the game like australia (90% voter turnout there compaed to 50% here)
and finally, NOT voting only does one thing; increases the power of the few who do vote; and that tends to be old people. they vote in groves, and will continue to vote leftist BS and for more gov't spending and all that good stuff cause many people 'don't see the need' to vote.... AND you/we/me will pay for it
North America is really bad for not giving a damn about politics. and its too bad; the rest of the world is able to make minority gov'ts work, but Canada's just a clusterfawk.
sorry for the political rant; go vote, we will be having a fall election!

If he's from Calgary and his last name is Harper, vote for him! ;D
Yeah, that didnt work out so good either. Harper was the first one to trigger the alberta recession long before the rest of the crap started with the energy trust rulling that he promised not make before being elected.
Stephen Hitler is a crook and a liar. Not that he's much different from the rest of them.
But honestly, I could care less about politics. Much like politics at work, it all sucks, and it never ends, and no one is ever happy.
Im with you Pat. No voting for this guy.

the cash for clunkers thing is a shame. soon no more used parts around. so many good used parts to salvage. i dont understand how this is helping. sure, ok it puts people in newer vehicles and removes some poor vehicles from the road. but for the most part it will be those of us that drive the 10-20 year old vehicles that will suffer. we can be thankful that its only in the states for now.
oh, and was the guy in the first video an idiot or did he just talk that way???

dopn't worry Robyn, looks Canada is happy with its Retire Your Ride Program, which i've never heard of................
looks like we won't be seeing any cash for clunkers anytime soon
