So I live in Lake Bonavista (the neighbourhood). I was at "the lake" today trying to remember how to fly fish :-[
As I was about to leave, a truck pulls up. It's a fish truck. (live fish) Naturally, I ask the driver a few questions.
Long story short, they just stocked Lake Bonavista with a semi-trailer load of Rainbow Trout. The "small" fish out of that batch were in the 4 to 6 pound range. :o

but they are smart fish and not so hungry.... so says my experience.

Are you kidding me Al?
Those fish are freakin stupid from living in captivity their whole lives. They lack a LOT of "instinct" and will eat damn near anything you toss in. I was an Aquaculture Technician in BC. We used to feed them gummi bears for fun, from time to time. The big ones(over 10 pounds) would let you pet them. I took my GF to the hatchery I used to work at. She fed them bread from her hand. These fish that were introduced into Lake Bonavista are from a fish farm, and should be equally stupid.

If I had a rod I'd come give it a shot with you Todd. I'll PM you with when we can do the Tshirt stuff.

Kid's rod and reel combo (spin-cast) is a whopping $30
Check regulations for that lake. I'm pretty sure it's private and for use of the community only.

It is private, and LBV residents only...but I can bring a guest. No fishing license required AFAIK.
Tubby is right on prices for tackle, or you are welcome to use a "loaner". I'm sure I've got something kicking around.
