I installed a RE 4" lift last year and have always had a problem with the spring bushings squeeking, creeking, groaning, and banging. I've tried all sorts of different greases but none seem to last long. RE says they are polyeurathane and offers no solutions. Anyone here have any suggestions?

Im not sure what this is off of but you can get greasable shackles if its from a YJ or somthing. I just put wheel bearing grease on mine and threw them back in, either I dont hear the squeeking over the other noise or it did the trick.
Edit, oh duh I read the title and I guess you can look into the shackles

Try METALON, it kinda looks like blue smurf snot, but it works well for harder or noisier applications like that. Not sure where you can get it, I have some extra if you wanna try it.

I just greased the hell out of my bushings when I put the kit on. No squeaks yet. I also stay away from them with the pressure washer. Planning to make a set of greasable bolts soon too.

Ya sorry this is a 94 YJ. I have totaly taken them apart three times (front and rear) and greased them with wheel bearing, silicone, anti-sieze grease but stlill doesn't last more than a couple months.
I have also tried to slightly loosen the shackle and eye bolts to allow them to move easier without binding.
Henry, I think I know of that grease you are talking about. That stuff is great. I was told it was for under water applications and I can see why as I've used some borrowed to me at work :) Blue, sticky and really stringy kinda stuff right? I didn't know the name of it and have been unable to find it anywhere.
Thanks for the replys and Henry, I might take you up on that if I can't find a tube or two to buy. That stuff is like looking for gold if it's what I think :)

Let me know, I have it in a small bucket (an old tobacco plastic thinger) and a brush, so it won't go in a grease gun. Should do the trick if you have your shackles apart. If you look for it, its called METALON, and I have seen it in tubes for a grease gun. There is an outfit in Calgary, Boss Lubricants, give them a call or try my stuff.

Thanks Darren I'll give them a try first and let you know.

Oils unlimited , behind Evolution . It's real expensive , was developed for heavily loaded components in difficult conditions. We had problems with bearing failures , that ended when we started using metalon grease.

I'm going to be installing an RE kit soon... this thread has me all worried :)
how expensive is "real expensive"

I checked with Boss Lubricants on the net and they have some special grease called Boss Red Tec Preimium and its made for "off-road and under water" type applications. It's made to stay put and is also high pressure rating. I called them today and the lady believes a tube for a grease gun would be about 5-6 bucks. I'm going there tomorrow to talk to a sales man for his recomendation and to buy a tube.
