Has anyone had experience with Eaton E Lockers, most of the reviews I have read seem to be positive.

We did a super 30 and super 35 in muffintops rig a few months back. They seem to be standing up well to his beadlocked 35's.
My buddy has one in his d60. He is on the second version. First one didnt fair so well, but eaton has completely re vamped them since. So far so good on his second one.

I just picked one up for a HP D44 project I'm working on...everything I've heard so far has been good and the price couldn't have been beaten either!

Version they initially had in the JK's seemed to fail due to water getting into something. They did a recall after about 4 months and haven't heard anybody complaining about that issue since. Kinda wish I had them in my rig now.... Grrrrrr.... And I don't think my computer has the capability to wire them up like stock, so I'd have to wire them through my sPod. Only bonus to that is I could use them in 4H, and 2WD.
After how many ARB's I've seen fail due to the compressor dying, or frozen air line, or it just not engaging for who knows what reason then mysteriously working later, I'd be inclined to go electrical. Or possibly manual like a cable OX (<---$$$ warning on that though).

If you can search and find the recent thread we talked about the Eaton's, I gave some pretty decent technical data, and for you guys running the 8.8's or D44's they actually sell replacement parts but giving the change in design I doubt you will need them,

Got one in the front and one in the back. Have done everything from flat, narrow & winding trails --> mud --> water --> really steep & scary runs with stock I-6, 5 spd & transfer case... and I am super happy. I think I have wheeled it hard enough that if it was going to fail... it would have done so by now (touch wood).
This one may be obvious... but if you don't like wiring... you might not like installing Elockers. I spent alot of time and got alot of rib rash wiring up my TJ... but it was worth it.
The other thing to note/research is the Elocker design is different from large diffs (D60) to small diffs (D30) due to size constraints (thats what I read anyway). I would try and narrow down your search to someone running the same diff and then drill down to the specific design/re-design version (if applicable).

I have been sitting on the fence for a month or 2 trying to decide on a Detroit rear (8.8) and True Trac front (D30) or go with a selectable front and rear. For some reason I keep coming back and looking at the Elocker.

I see Yukon is also making lockers now. Wonder how they are. I know they are a new product and all, so one may have to wait and see what the reviews are like.

Wow, how did that feel at the time? Did it actually engage at that speed or just grind like crazy?

Oh ya... I forgot to mention that when I first wired my TJ... I had my switches down by my gearshift. Then I almost mashed/acivated the switches while driving at higher speeds. That freaked me out so I bought a Daystar 2 rocker switch panel that replaces one of your vent assemblies (above the stereo in a TJ). Makes for a nice clean install and keeps the switches higher up and out of the way. Much lower probability of being accidentally activated.

I have one in the front(D44) of my ZJ. Been in about 9 months now. Works fine, push button axle locks. No problems but then I haven't put a lot of miles on yet or really beat on it.
Ask Jessen over on 4wheeler.ca. He has one in the front of his XJ with a D44 and has beat on it quite a bit, he competes with it in the tough truck contests.

Any one hear anything about there being no warranty with tires bigger than stock? I had asked about one and was told there was a note that there was no warranty with larger than stock tires.

Is there actually a warrenty on any lockers?
I've never expected there to be one.

we returned an EZ locker to modern once. it was barely engaging. they gave us a brand new one....... not sure if that was a manufactureres warranty or modern......... but they honoured it

I have a front and rear Eaton Electronic locker on my vehicle right now. They are definitely pretty convenient and they seem reliable enough. I haven't run into any major issues, but this is the first year.

How did Blair's experience go with ARB, didn't they hook him up with the newer model for cheap?

I'm interested in a rear Eaton E-locker as well. I didn't seem to find any for the Chrysler 8.25 though?

Sorry, I should also mention my front and rear lockers not on an XJ; actually they are OEM
....which reminds me I really should update my avatar one of these days, lol
