Title: Four Wheel Stampeders announce the 2009 Toy Drive! Dec 12!

Once again this Christmas the Four Wheel Stampeders will be hosting a Christmas Toy Drive. Things this year will be a bit different. We will still be collecting unwrapped toys for charity(this year's recipient will be the Cerebral Palsy Association) but instead of doing a convoy we will be holding a Poker run.

For those who havn't done a Poker run before here is how it works. There will be checkpoints spread around Southern Calgary that you will need to visit and collect playing cards from. As well you will recieve one card for decorating your vehicle and another for bringing an unwrapped for the Toy Drive.

Once you have collected all your cards, return to the Braeside Community Hall and turn them in. In the end whoever had the best Poker hand wins first prize. Prizes will also be awarded to best decorated vehicle. Following the Poker run there will be a HOT lunch available for $3.

So to sum up:

When: Saturday Dec. 12, 10am
Where: Braeside Community Hall 11024 Braeside Dr. S.W.
What: Toy Drive for the Cerebral Palsy Association
Poker Run
Vehicle Decorating Contest
Hot Lunch($3)
Who: The Calgary and area 4X4 community(this means you!)

Well this just in, West Jet  just announced they are donating a prize pack with two flight tickets!

Remember, 10am Braeside Community Hall THIS SATURADAY!

Be there with your vehicle decorated and your poker face on!

Clay,... lots of us are going camping this week-end. Bonnie and I will not be able to attend.

There will be a few of us that will be able to attend. Eric our new pres for 2010 will have prises for you. The CJA put some cash together and got two Wii s for the charity you guys are donating to this Christmas. Eric will have them with him.

Members: please make sure to attend this event if you are not coming camping. It's alot of fun.

Some more info for you.

Poker run will go as follows:
There will be 5 check stops around South Calgary where you can obtain cards. You can also get bonus cards by bringing an unwrapped toy and for decorating your vehicle. There will also be a separate contest for best decorated vehicle.

Only one hand per vehicle allowed and no trading of cards will be allowed(no you can't load 6 of your buddies into your minivan and collect half a decks worth of cards. #-o )
Best hand of 5 cards wins.

The Westjet tickets will be given out in a draw. So the more tickets you buy the better your chances of winning. The tickets are round trip for two anywhere Westjet flies. (Blackout dates apply).

Youth sized ATV helmet, courtesy of Cochrane Mountain Toys

Despite the frigid temps yesterday the Toy Drive was a success. We collected a bunch of toys and raised over $500 cash for the Cerebral Palsy Association.

Thank you to everyone who showed up despite the cold temps and contributed to the event(sure glad we were not at Bowness this year!).
