hello there. i am trying to figure out why my tj is heating up any ancers. i have changed thermostat NEw ele fan rad is very clean.
-
blown head gasket?
-
heating system have a few things to look for; tstat open/closed. you've solved that. dirty rad; solved. the new fan work? does it pull enough air to cool? whats the CFM rating on the fan. if it isn't high enough then you'll over heat, yet on the highway might be ok as there is enough airflow through the rad.
other things to look at are bad waterpump, just a bad rad and bad clutch on fan. but no clutch fan on yours so i'd start first with you efan, and see what it actually pulls.
if it all checks out bad headgasket is also possible

I just had this issue and realized there was not enough coolant in the rad.
Sounds simple, but, hey, the best of us forget the little things. ;)

i had overheating issues in my old jeep and it was an air pocket just had to burp the system and it ran cool from then on, had to do a waterpump in both the old one and new one as well

Is the fan pushing air or pulling air? Is the fan on the front or back of the rad?
-
well i guess i couldn't decode the message.
4low heat up = only heats up in 4 low. wow.
got it 8)
Obviously not the head gasket.
-
i think i got it .the fan is on the motor side of the rad and is pushing air forward did major cleaning ok rad again. we will se thanks for the advice
-
.... and is pushing air forward...
:o ???

The fan should be pulling cool air from outside the engine compartment, through the rad. You also need the shroud in place for it to work properly.
