Title: Run on Dec 29th or 30th
Post by: Elsifer on December 22, 2005, 12:04:49 PM
Any takers? I can't make the boxing day run, and I'm itching to head out for a day. Nothing too hard but I wouldnt mind scouting out Harold Creek "just to see how hard it really is".

I would plan to be at Smitty's in Cochrane for 8am, then at the Hunter Valley entrance off the 40 for about 9:30, a nice amble to the fork, then try the loop in reverse to see the awesome hill first. Then perhaps turn around and see the second valley from the first ridge.

I'll prolly be disconnected from the web till after xmas, I'm moving, yay.

Cheers
Chris

Dagnabit! I gotta work friday night, and I have found a pretty serious coolant leak that I have to take care of, ironic that my rig just came back from service....

So unless something changes, I can't make it!

Yep! I'm still going and Scott will be there and probably Allen.

8 am at Smitty's, off to the trails by 9.

Not sure what trails we will run, we can talk about it at breaky.

Cow Lake? Black rock lookout ? ghost cross country? Something not too challenging. Probably not Harold creek.

What was that trail we started up that day where you were the only one to make it up that crack in the mud and then we turned around and assaulted lost knife? How challenging would it be in the winter?

That would be Lesure creek.
It might not be too bad of a run, since there is not too much snow yet. We tried it once last winter with not the greatest results. A lot of winching at the beginning for one person, Bogfrog I believe, and a very long and scary toboggan ride later in the day, going down towards Johnsons bog.
