Title: winter fun
Post by: FiEND on December 09, 2009, 11:55:33 AM
ok maybe not.

think the story is as first pic, got high centered.  went down the hill a bit to get free.  went too far, tried to go across, basically had to go across.

second pic shows a winch line behind the jeep but don't know what it is connected to.  obviously didn't help, prob killed the battery trying.  then the 5th shows a winch line across the ice so ... well who knows.

license plate looks to have some symbols on it. it ain't from here.

has about as much sense and the mentality of some guys i've seen out here. 'no matter how deep i'll try it!'

maybe if he hit it faster he'd have gotten through it.

Like skipping a stone across the water?

I've heard a story about a mustang hitting a slew at a high rate of speed....... skipped about half way across before it sunk.

That would be a fun thing to get the Myth Busters to try. I would like to see a mustang skip accross the water like a stone.

i found the solution trevor. i get a buddy with a stock XJ to come camping, get him to haul all my crap out, then i cruise topless and doorless......... down a trail with 40 years of overgrowth ::)

That's an oldie  ,   damn good one though. It was left overnight and froze in the pond  ,  I think a Caterpillar was used to  finally extract it.  Some one emailed a series of those pics to me with a story several years ago .

I think I would rather have the 'sleeping bag, wife, and a dog' than a 'whole schwack of crap' any day.  But an XJ does kinda look like a manure spreader ... ;D

It was probably the snorkel that got him into this mess. Snorkels are like a 40 pounder of whisky... either will get you into situations you will regret the next day  :P

Now I'm sure someone is going to disagree with my snorkel evaluation as the Jeep was on a winch like going down the hill and appeared not ot be running, blah, blah, blah... and to that I say... the guy went wheelin in dress shoes & a suit... so you cant use logic, common sense & reason to evaluate this one gents  ;)

Too many prune candies?
