I have Rubicon Express lower control arms on my XJ, I feel like they're moving around making clunking noises when I start and stop. I can feel it through the floor. I couldn't budge the bolts holding them. Anyone ever experience this? :o

how are your bushings?
-
4 weeks old.
-
Sounds kind of like what's going on with mine. Did it since they were new but all is tight like a tiger.
-
Are they poly/rubber bushings Stan or the spherical ball-joint style ones?
-
RE had a problem with a bunch of their rubber/poly bushings, they will replace them when given pictures.
-
Rubber bushing. Is there more where I can read about this RE bushing replacement?
-
I'm pretty sure it's these ones, I'll have to crawl under there and double check:

There is to much weight to move by hand. Either have someone shake the whel and observe movement, or have someone back down an incline in neutral intermitantly slamming the brakes.
If your arms have movement, it will show itself with either of those tests.

Is there a fix for this? New bushings (preferably free replacements from RE)?

i get a similar noise in my xj, but i dont have a re lift i have a budjet lift with poly bushings, could my noise be my poly bushings and should i be worried about it?
-
my lca's did that. turns out that when i stepped on it or braked hard it moved the front diff enough to hit the lower control arm resulting in a noise like you are talking about.
-
Oh, so you're saying it could be the end of the lower control arms where it bolts to the axle. I'll check that.
So is it the bushings or just not tight enough?
