Title: **Official New Years Day Open Run Tread**
Post by: WhiteOut on December 20, 2009, 10:24:14 PM: Im leading this run, we're gonna try out one of the new trails that just opened up. If you meet the requirements you can come :)

Min requirements will be:
Waivers will have to be signed by any non members present
Valid drivers license and insurance for anyone who plans to drive
TIRES --> 31" or bigger MT or AT tread, if in doubt PM me ( MUST BE IN GOOD SHAPE)
Proper tow points front and rear, stock tow points, aftermarket or aftermarket bumpers with recovery points
Enough food and water for every person in your vehicle for one day
Warm clothes and a change of clothes
Recovery gear, this mean a recovery STRAP
Full tank of gas, tanking up in Cochrane is probably a good idea

Highly recommended stuff :
Tire chains
Winch
CB or FRS radios
Lockers

As long as you meet these requirements and weigh less than 7,000 lbs you are welcome to come. Just be aware that some people might not be able to go at the same pace as you and we don't leave anyone behind on the trail. If it takes 4 hours to get someone back on the trail, it takes 4 hours. Please tread lightly and remember that these are new trails that SRD and GAMP gave us so long as they don't get ruined.

Post by: WhiteOut on December 26, 2009, 12:48:29 AM: Sooooo, since I want to keep this run as newbie friendly as possible I'm going to wait to hear back from the guys heading out tomorrow on the condition of the new trails. If it looks like they might be a bit too interesting we'll just do the falls, nice drive and there are a few tricky spots that keep it fun.

Meeting place will be the Smittys parking lot at 0830, planning on leaving at 0900.

Post by: raf2379 on December 30, 2009, 04:56:13 PM: I picked up some chains, so i'll definetly be there. I went to greggs distributors and they are $146 a pair, but I found another place called Titan Supply LP and i got them for $100 a pair. not bad will test fit them tomorow morning.

Post by: Alak on December 30, 2009, 07:01:54 PM: $146? Thats crazy. I paid $70 2 years ago for a pair. Mind you, that was 2 years ago, and they are probably smaller than what you would have purchased. Is the set you got from titan the ones with the barbs on them?

$180.00 for the pair-this is for a good pair of chains mind you

With those baby's you can pretty much 2 wheel drive all the way to the north pole.

If you are drinking tonight please do the responsible thing if you are still drunk/hung over in the morning and join us another time, we want everyone to be safe. We're going to use CB Channel 10, all non-member attending will have to sign a waiver.
