Hey Guys...
I have a chance at either a 4.3 Blazer donor or a Bronco II donor.
My question is, if I'm planning on taking the 2.5/AX5 combo out of my YJ, which would be the better gear to put in, the Blazer or the bronco?
Thanks

argggg... i am by no means a chevy guy. but for this i gotta say go with the 4.3L combo from the blazer. the bronco 2's arent good for anything but a complete drivetrain swap. what year of blazer? the auto would be the way to go, the manual transmission werent so hot in those blazers either. ill bet advance adapters has what you need to transfer the chev stuff over to your yj. good luck, merry xmas:)

really dumb question but why wouldn't you try and find a 4.0 from another jeep?

Chevy FTW cant go wrong with a 4.3L had one with 422000KM on it and didnt puff any smoke at all and from what i recall most chevy trannys IE TH350/TH400/700R4 and such will bolt up to a 4.3L

4.3l/4l60e combo will make better power and be more dependable than the 2.8 in the bronco.

The 4.3 is a good motor, lots of them around. WAy more so than the 2.8.

The main reason is availability and price.
thanks Guys...
4.3 it is.

I'm a ford guy, but the engines available in the Bronco II's were junk. 2.8L,2.9L,4.0L. All crap, with little to no aftermarket support. 2.9's and 4.0's have lifter problems, ALL of them.
Go with the 4.3 :(
