Title: Can they fit??
Post by: marklienhardt on January 10, 2010, 12:32:47 AM
I have a 98 TJ with the 3.5 suspension lift.

Can I put the rubicon 275/75/17 inch set on this jeep?

can 16 or 17 inch rims go on here and what size can I do.

Thank you very much

are you talking the 07+ wheels?  If you are, they have a different bolt pattern, however there are wheel spacers made that have adapters for different bolt patterns.

You have (as well as all TJ's) 5x4.5" (in metric 5x114.3mm) and I believe the JK's have 5x5.5"...but dont quote me on that bolt pattern.

-=edit=-

see below, the JK wheels are 5x5 not 5x5.5 like I stated.

Parabs is correct, those wheels and tires will not bolt onto your TJ, wrong pattern. However there are lots of aftermarket 16 and 17" rims that will fit your TJ. As fore tire size..33's will fit maybe 35's...MAYBE haha

WJ's are a 5 0n 5 (5 x 127mm) bolt pattern, same as the new JK's

Yup, JK's are 5x5.

As a note, SpiderTrax makes an adapter for 5x4.5 (97-06 Wranglers) to 5x5 (JK).  $100 a pair.  1-1/4" thick.  Use more Loctite than what comes with them.  Like triple.

If you are talking about the JK Rubicon Take-offs, I believe they are 255/75/17, about 32".

the jk rims will not fit because of bolt patttern is different   but they do sell spacers that will fix that for you
