Title: tranny help???

so the tranny in my girlfriend 1998 xj 4.0 (aw4) will not go into o/d. so I'm in the market for a used one. What I'm wondering is what do i need to look for? what years will work on the 98 if it is specific to the t-case (ours has a 242 ) that's in it and so on.  I'm gonna do so google lookin but thought i might find a nice quick answer here.

i had the same problem with my 98 Grand Cherokee i took it to T&T transmission's and they found it to be a broken wire ....i don't know if its the same or if the problems are the same just thought it might be worth a look  :-\
