Crank positioning sensor?
Spell check is your friend.
-
i think i'm going to try the cps and the cts and see what happens
-
pull your codes first ryan. throwing sensors at it will be expensive. see what the code says first then go from there. try the key three turn trick first.
if it were you CPS it would crank then die right away.......
-
Fuel filter? Not enough flow.
Is it that kind of feeling?
-
it's not trowing any codes Johnny, and it could be the fuel pump but i need to start eliminating thing so i can find the problem
-
test fuel pressure and test the sensors before u change them
-
how do you test the sensor?
-
im sure theres test procedures from mithchel or aldata let me check
-
cant get on it right now ill try at work in the am

I had a similar symptom. Turned out to be my starter. Something to consider.
-
Sounds like a lack of fuel, either a weak pump or clogged filter, my 97 jimmy had the same symptoms and a new pump/filter solved the trouble.

Did you move your fuel cell into the back of your rig? I remember you posting something about that a while ago...

ya i did but i never had any problems
oh and i forgot to add it started acting up after i washed the engine compartment (i stayed away from the computer)
-
i hope it's not the pump because i doubt jeepstuff is warrenting the things they sell after they closed
-
does it die when you give it gas ryan? does it idle fine? but when you step on it it bogs and dies?
did you get your distributor wet when u washed it?
-
it idles fine and drives fine for about a kilometer be for if dies, no mater what speed i am going it dies in the same distance, my distributor is sealed( i sealed it when i did my snorkel)
would the coolent temp sensor do this you think because i just changed the thermostat and had it all apart? and after i changed it i washed the engine to get the coolent off
i'm at a loss to what it could be

Your distributor is sealed ? The air inside there gets very hot and in ionizes and then it quits sparking. if you want to water proof it run a vacuum line to the distributor and a supply line from your air filter then WHEN YOU GO SPLASH IN THE WATER HOLE THE DISTRIBUTOR WILL NOT CREATE A VACUUM WHEN IT COOLS OF AND SUCK WATER IN.

make's sense, i'll do that when i change it out i'm going to change a hole mack of shiz under my hood as soon as i get the tax money ;D

is that like, Canmore slang for you're gonna fix your crap? ;)
theres a real simple solution if the dist. is sealed; there should be a breather valve on the top of the distributor. (most do) pull it and run some tubing/hose, whatever straight up. that'll act as a breather and keep your dist. sealed.
you can also get real fancy, pull the cap, and tap a fitting into it and run the same kind of tubing upwards. i've done it many times with success. try that first Ryan. its cheap, and easy!

I have a buddy from venezueala who used to race offroad back home, they do these cross country rally races with mostly toyotas, lots of water involved.
He told me they would run a line to the distributor that was hooked up to a small compressor in the glovebox or similar, and whenever they went through deep water they would turn it on.
According to him you could pop the hood in water and watch a stream of bubbles escape from the distributor vent.

fuel pressure is like 45, 47 i have a picure of the gage but can't get her on here
i don't think the fuel pump is the problem

Another potential problem with a sealed distributor is condensation (water) cant get out. GM's Optispark system is a classic example of that. Google "GM Optispark" for either problems or fixes. It will give you some well documented & proven ideas that can be translated to most ignition systems.
