Title: Rear Wiper and automatic transmission handle
Post by: Matt4x4 on February 21, 2010, 04:44:51 PM
I think my rear wiper lost the pivot hole for spring, how do I take it off to replace it?

How do I get the plastic handle off the automatic transmission lever on a Cherokee '90?

No idea what you mean on the rear wiper.

For the t handle on the tranny, pull it down into 1-2 then give the handle a good yank and it will pop off. A REALLY good yank may be needed.

there should be a retainer clip behind the wiper arm itself...small screwdriver works followed by a good yank....same ith your trans shifter..small clip at the base of the handle...shift into 1-2 and you will see it (if equipped)..small screwdriver will pry it out....also apply belt dressing once both items are replaced...to avoid squeal.

The rear wiper has a spring clip that when you squish it with needle nose pliers it will come out.
Then you have to yank on it to get it out, just be sure it is inline.

The handle comes off by yanking it inline in the 1 or 2 position.
