before i took my 92 xj off the road i had completly rebuilt the rear brakes on my dana 35, new drums, shoes, spring kit and cylinders. now my 95 xj has a 44 in the rear, will all my new brakes fit on to the 44?
i have been searching the net to find an answer but have not found anything yet. trying naxja.org as well but i figured some one on here might know.

They should fit. Only time I've seen what look to be a larger drum is on the odd grand.
If you holf the drums up to eachother you will find out for sure.

thanks billy, i will have to give it a try when i get the 95 back in the garage. i will post and let you know if they do fit.

don't quote me Dana, but i would wager discs from an 8.8 (exploder rear axle) would bolt right up too......... they are a direct swap from an ZJD35; its possible they'd fit too.
check that www.naxja.org site..... good info there for things like this!

My Xj dana 44 has much larger drums than my Xj dana 35.
the 35 is a '95 and the 44 is from a '89.

rockauto.com has a pretty good online catalog for crossing up part numbers.

Agreed. d44 drums are noticably larger than d35 drums.

Slight hijack but I am wondering the same except with the C8.25 and the D44, can one bolt onto the other?

The drums? I don't think so...

if they are different just change backing plates. not really an issue either way.
FTR 8.8 plates dont fit for disk swaps. 93 and up zjs, 03 rubi's, and 04-06 d35 and 44's all swap onto those old xj axles.
beware of commanche 44's. they have an oddball back plate pattern.

As long as its not a mj44, the back plate patterns are the same
