too bad. they had plans for a H4 that would go up against the wrangler. would have been cool to see how it would compare.

the JK is like a caravan, they both use a similar platform... ::) the H4 is kinda like those old Eagle 4wd cars.

I can't say I am surprised, Hummer has a terrible image and in a world where environmentalists slander first and check facts later they never stood a chance.

"They use too much gas"
"They are too expensive"
"They are unreliable"

Believe me, I have heard them all... but the fact is my H3T gets better mileage real world mileage than a Toyota Tacoma, has the range of a Golf TDI Diesel, cost less than a Jeep Rubicon (seriously I paid less than 32K for mine even with the off-road pacakge) and comes with all the off-road goodies like Blisten off-road shocks, 1:69 crawl ratio, electronic F&R lockers, AWD, skid plates & stock 33" tires. It also has a substantial list of standard features and touches of luxury extras which you don't usually find on vehicles under the 50K price range.

I can't really comment on the reliability of it yet, it still has to earn that with me.

Really it isn't a bad package if you can get past the ugly persona  ;)

In the end it was all too little too late, it would have taken another 5 or 6 years to change the perception of the Brand and with people still pimping out H2's with giant rims I don't really think it was ever going to happen.

i thought the H4 was the JK?

The H4 was a pipe dream, it was never going to happen.

I imagine it would probably have ended up like the Jeep Compass... they both started out with an inspiring 2dr concept with giant tires, only to become a re-badge version of an economy car. It is too bad, I was excited about the Compass for years.... such a heart breaker.

The concept

Seriously.....your H3T can go for almost 1000km's?  How freaking big is the tank on it?

This really sucks because the price will be artificially inflated when I'm ready to buy in a few when I'm done school. >:(

So, you'll be able to afford a 2010 Hummer in 2020?

You bet, I can drive from Calgary to Vancouver on a single tank of fuel; although admittedly this is probably the only Hummer that can do that, I have the 5cyl. and the manual 5 speed transmission in my vehicle. I averaged 22mpg (10.7L/100km) going down and 24mpg (9.8L/100km) coming back.

The truck models of the H3 are equipt with a  larger 102L tank

Don't worry Fraser, I will give you a good price on mine!  ;D
