You hit the nail on the head. The 44A is a different axle. I think that it was one of the rear axles offered in ZJ's...but i'm not certain on that.

There are guys on here that can tell you exactly what makes a 44A different...but I'm not one of them.

Thanks  :-[

I believe that the MJ's had "real" 44's and not the 44A's, but that's just my recollection of what I've heard. I've never owned an MJ or a ZJ.

Stan can probably give you some guidance in terms of which item is the right fit.

The D44A's are found in Grand Cherokees. The "A" stands for aluminum.

That is correct, D44a came in the Grand Cherokees with an aluminum center section. Not much from a regular D44 crosses over to it.

An MJ would have had a regular D44(or a D35).

What gets me.....

Given the  exchange rate roughly .98CDN to 1 dollar American.....

SYE with driveshaft and uppers .CA = 793.90
SYE with driveshaft and uppers .COM = 694.95 x 1.02=708.85
Both qualify for free shipping

Then give Northridge a call. See if they'll do better for you.

Also bear in mind that it probably costs them a few dollars to ship it up here from their warehouse in the states.
