Anyone know where I can buy some recovery shackle mounts? Prefer bolt on but will take what I can get. Neither National or Modern carries them anymore...

I suppose I could make them.

Hmm, somone else told me that as well and I have their catalouge on my work computer but didn't find any tabs in it. I should have stopped in there when I was in that area this morning.

Have you actually bought some there Jay or just been told they have them?

Clay, go to Princess Auto.....hydraulic section. They've got cylinder mounting tabs up to 1" thick with holes from 5/8"-1". That's where I got mine from....

AHHH thats where  I saw them. Thanks!

princess auto, hydraulic cylinder mounts, great idea!!! I spent hours with a round file...

They worked great! And I know that they won't be the weak part....LOL. I cut a hole for them to fit through the bumper, welded them on both sides, and then added a gusset right next to them, back towards the frame. I'll probably to the same on the rear when I get that far....

I havent seen these ram mounts, but is there a chance they are cast steel? If they are, I'd be concerned with using them as tow points.

-
No when I last saw them they looked to be just regular cut mild steel.
