Oh Gawd!!
You go down that hill???

There is at least one serious head injury on that hill during toboggan/sled season, nevermind drunken couch racing...

I wish I was 21 again...

Here the best video compilation that resulted.  Got all the goods, injuries, high speed couches.... and carnage.  The best part is the 99 Red Balloons background song lol.

Unfortunately I'm graduating this year, making this my 1st and last race "cry."  Maybe its a good thing, but hey you only live once.... GIVER!

Hahaha, great vid! The races were so awesome this year, I can't wait till next BSD! I recognize the girl in green in the first photo, she was rocking out with us Civils in the beer gardens, haha.

Yep you called it, this is Civils 4th years unofficial couch entry, hopefully some 2nd-3rd rookies can Carey on the tradition.... assuming this event doesn't get cancelled.... got a little to much publicity this year.

Ah, nice, you must have been the crew from the 4th year homeroom, I was usually in the 3/4 room so I don't recognize most of the faces in the photo. Guy at the bottom left looks familiar though. Civil FTW!

looks like a lot of the couches ended up like the first Tacoma Narrows Bridge

This is what we used to do back at UNB. This is a video of the year I ran it. There are a few videos uploaded from that year.

Gravity powered student built cars. Full safety Harness, roll cage and working breaks required. Other than that, it was pretty open.
The course was just over 2kms long, and took about 5min to make the run. Had tires set up at various locations along the hill.

Ahh yes the Tacoma Bridge up there with, the Quebec Bridge (collapsed 2or3 times before they got it right) and the leaning tower... One of Civils many engineering blunders.  There were some sketchy rigs out there for sure (just add duct tape lol)! and it'll buff out kinda style.
