So I think my tranny mount has excessive play. Whenever I step on it (Forward or back) I get a really loud clunk. The tranny is tight to the motor and the crossmember is tight too. Any ideas or am I on the right track here?

3 clunks or lots of clunks? whatabout coasting? what about when you downshift?
-
Little clunk when downshifting, none while coasting. Clunk has gotten worse since I have gottwn the Jeep

mine did it and was the driveshaft / ujoints. cant really tell until you remove the driveshafts.
take the front shaft off and see if it still makes the noise. if it does, put it back on and remove the back one and see if it makes the noise. then you can check the ujoints at the same time. only takes an hour to do all this.

Only issue is we've done all u joints front & rear within 500 kms. I had the front shaft pulled and clunk did not go away, will pull rear shaft this weekend. If I pull the rear shaft won't I have a t case fluid leak?

BUMP!!

LCA bushings. Or I had a clunk that came from a motor mount that was humped.

LCA bushings are good, control arms out on under 300 km's good ago, and bushings were good. I will check the motor mounts. Am I way off on the transmission mount idea?
