Can i put a tj fuel pump in a yj fuel tank
-
just the pump motor or the whole sending unit deal? if its the whole shebang then its like fitting a round peg in a square hole... actually thats exactly what it is. yj fuel pump/sending unit is square and mounts in a square hole in the tank. tj fuel pump/sending unit is round. they both mount ver ydifferently as well, yj sender bolts down, tj sender has a collar the screws it down. as well the tj unit is a retunless system so the fuel pressure regulator is right at the sender.
but anything is possible. might be easier to find an aftermarket tank to add the tj pump.

Don't TJ pumps run at a higher pressure ?
Fukd if I know I'm into leaf spring & bias ply tires

Ok nothing is easy that is worth having.....
I have a 98 TJ engine in it so maybe inline pump might work? So can you install a TJ tank in the YJ doesn't hurt to ask. I will check aftermarket any suggestion where to check for the tank would be great as well.
Thanks for the replies and input....

tj and yj blocks/heads are pretty much the same, you could just run the yj fuel injection on the tj block and head.

I got a tj tank complete if you are interested.
good luck!
