Title: SE Kal tire for wheel alignment?
Post by: Tagg on July 11, 2010, 06:52:21 AM
I want to get the front wheel alignment done.  Is the Kal tire way down in the SE a good place to go?
I was there once and they seemed decent.  I'm looking for a place that will tell me if I need parts, and if I do let me install them myself and go back to
get the wheels aligned. Any ideas?

I'm taking my tow unit down to e-mortal for exhaust upgrades and an alignment.
Their rates are reasonable.
they are the only shop I've found so far that works with 3-1/2 inch exhaust pipe.

go to e-mortal customs. thats where i went. since i had a "modified vehicle" many places decided its fair to charge 3x the normal place....emortal did not. they also told me what parts i should get (control arms as my bushings were starting to wear out. definitely go to e-mortal.

I have heard good things about them too.

if not them, I go to a place called Precision alignment and brake in the far NE in westwinds. I have been going there for about 10 years now.
the owners are family friends and we send alot of people there from work if they ask for a shop.

I know suv's are a little more expensive than cars, but I forget the exact price, something like 100 bucks I think. maybe a little more.
I can say they have always treated me well over the years, got the lowdown on how the alignment rack works, kinda cool thing I must say.
they have saved me loads of money too(bad insurance claim that they ended up fixing)

I've had mine done there a few years back.  No complaints.  I don't quote me on this but if you buy tires from Country Tire next door and they don't need to adjust anything, Precision would do the allignment for free.  I think they used to anyways.  As far as Country Tire goes, it's the cheapest place I've found tires.  Good guys to deal with too.

Lads Auto off Ogden is a good place also.

something like that.

I know the guys at country tire too, kelly is the owner, jay amd kyle(spelling?) will run the place for the most part as far as day to day stuff. one of kelly's kids works there too.

nice guys to hang out with and chat with.

one of my buds used to work there too and if I was really bored I would hang out and make fun of them while they worked, and usually get put to work after a while , good times.

the father in law has another guy he has been going to for the last little while, I will ask him what the shop is, but his prices were really good on alot of things and the work was top notch and quick.

cheers
steve

I just got my Duramax back from e-motral.
The truck hasn't steered this good since I got it.
Wil was great, poked around the truck and suggested some mods, no pressure though.
Got to shoot the stuff with Rick and bounced some Jeep ideas off him.
Real good crew, fantastic service , fair price--- I'll be back

Well I enjoyed the people at Emortal, but I sure hope they live up to the recommendations........All of my ball joints are failing at 4700 Km and the only thing they can replace them with are OEM  parts.  If that's not enough the lift probably wasn't installed properly and bushings are failing there as well.
So the damage is just over $1000. to repair it and get it aligned.  I really hope this gets it fixed!!

if your jk still has warranty bring it in for an inspection. there is a oem spec for the ball joints on the jk's. they may appear to be loose but in fact within spec.
i work for big 4 motors and we've seen enough jk's that we know whats right and whats wrong.
