none of the JKs come with the inline 6, and they all come with the 3.8 V6. Aside from lacking some of the lower end grunt, i haven't had any problems with mine and it has a little more upper end grunt than the inline 6. If you are considering an engine upgrade, I'd either supercharge it, or swap in a Hemi :)

IF you're going to do a swap as complex as putting an I-6 in a JK, I'd think that you'd go all the way and swap in a V-8. Or maybe a cummins  ;D

Sounds like you want to replace a gutless boat anchor with a slightly less gutless, more reliable boat anchor?
Just swap a V8 and be done with it, you know you want too.

That is a totally untrue accusation about the 3.8L V6. It gets better fuel economy than the 4.0, makes more peak horespower, is quite reliable, and is nowhere near heavy enough to be an effective boat anchor ;D

yeah, the 3.8 gets a lot of un-necessary flak. . . not to say it is the best engine around, but it isn't by any stretch a "bad motor"  :o. How much is the 6.1 at the Ponoka dealer? I din't know there were any 6.1s around. Would be a fun, axel-snapping ride :).

nope looking for a dirt simple swap I have done enough v8 swaps .It is going to be a 150- 200 km a day daily driver  to work . light winter wheeling.I know every trick in the book for the inline six it will also be stroked  and turbo'ed.The cummins swap was going to be first but I cannot find a good running 4bt that isn't shot.
and for no other reason then I cant stand the 3.8

You obviously don't know Nate, He'll have the swap done and running for under 40 bucks and that include the donor engine.
