yeah good point

i was going with the idea of sept <this year> is model <next year>

so

sept 86 (=1987) 87 88 89 90
sept 91 92 93 94 95 96 97 98 99 00
sept 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 ( =2011 )

would be the start of the 25 th year

?

well, 1996 was a funny year. i believe they were selling off the last of the 1995 yj's and brought in the 1997 tj half way through the year. so its kind of a blend year. or thats what ive heard that makes the most sense.

surfing around the internet yj series wranglers were rolling off the assembly line in 1986 as 87's,
10 years later they retooled for the tj series wranglers ... so i am sticking w/my monkey math
above,  i think we are entering the 25th year

"aniversity" ?  :D You mean anniversary  :P

"Wrangler" is just a model name, it's a Jeep, and just because it has square headlights, I don't think it restarts the Jeep manufacturing clock.

Wasn't the 2006 the 65th anniversary edition ? I don't think a 25th anniversary is in the future.

Eg. I am 24 years old. Just because I got braces, glasses and a haircut when I was 10 doesn't now make me 14 again  :)

frenchy are you trying to tell us your 24 and dont like square headlights  ::)

i drive a square headlight jeep and i luv it ...

along the jeep timeline there are a number of groupings within though changes
were many ,  like the cj series 1941-1971 ... those jeepers are proud of their series

wranglers deserve the same , when we're all hobbling around in walkers the
wrangler will get a grouping as well thats the only clock this post is jumping ,
the cj history is pretty clear - but the wrangler history from the posts above is a
little unclear ...
