There will be a club open run on the 25th of September.
Location: McLean Creek Store 8:30, we will be airing down and hitting the trail NLT 9:20
Requirements:
- Good operational Jeep (no major leaks or problems of other sorts)
- Good Tires (minimum 31 inches) probably gonna want M/T's for this one
- Tow Points front and rear
- Recovery Equipment (No TOW straps or Chains)
- Full Tank of fuel
- CB/FRS (optional)
- Food/water for the day
- Proper footwear (Rubber boots or Good Hikers)
- Change of clothing (may be a good idea)
It was VERY muddy out there last weekend, so please be prepared.
This run will be as stock friendly as possible.
For all non-members there will be waivers that will need to be signed.
See you at the store!!

Wish I could make it.....signed up for a band gig back in August! On that note though, Don probably doesn't want me along...what's rule number one again? ;D

I'm trying to get away from work loing enough to join this run...but it's rough, as I'm also trying to get everything done before I go to Moab at the end of next week ;D

My weekend plans fell through - I can make it and help out now :)
Thanks Don, for stepping up.

I am in also.
Thanks Don, nice to have someone that knows their way around.

We are a maybe... depends on what those little people that live in our house need from us (I think they're called kids).
-
What do the waivers say? If anything breaks its not your fault?
-
I'll be coming too.

in short, if you frack up, you can't blame the club.................. so if you do something silly you can't blame others; you'll have only yourself to blame for that mud coming in the doorsills ;) you'll be able to read it in full before you sign it!!!!!!!!!!!! its just there to limit liability.
have fun on the trails and be safe.

here's the waiver if you wanted to have a look

Bring em!! I have to bring all three of my kids.....wife is outta town, so it should be interesting. Good thing my girls like Rosko and SilverTJ, that way I can pawn em off!! =]
-
Im in!
-
awesome looks like it will be a good turn out.
-
Looks good everybody.
By my count we will have about 12 jeeps out (mostly JK's and XJ's)....should be interesting.
Please make sure your are prompt, I would rather get an early start, that way we can get some good photos and have a nice lunch somewhere is nature.
--OR--
We may need the time to practice our recovery skills!!
Either way lets be aired down and rolling by 9:20.
See you tomorrow.

I would love to come as this would be my first run with all of you but I was a nice guy and lent out my recovery strap. I do have a "tow strap" with soft ends...and would pick one up however to early to stop anywhere. Does anyone have a strap that I could buy (if I buy preferably in good shape) or borrow (any damage and I will replace). I would hate to not be able to go on the run because of a strap!!!

i have an extra recovery strap, you can use. between all of us coming we have plenty if anyone dont have one and needs a tug out of a mud hole.

Ok I am going to have to ask the stupid question of what is the difference between a tow strap and a recovery strap?????? :-[

A tow strap doesn't stretch, a recovery strap does. So...when you jerk someone out of, say, mud, the recovery strap stretches, storing some energy, then that stored energy helps pull the jeep out.
Also, when it stretches, it's less of a shock than if it was a non-stretching tow rope.

I'm in as well. 8:30 at the store?
-
Ok I will have to make a point of not getting stuck till I can get a proper recovery strap :)

Yup. 8:30.

This is why I do not like to borrow things...I have a terrible memory and forget to return. Could the nice guy who was driving the Red Cherokee (Did not catch your name) and let me use his recovery strap send me a PM with your number I am out all day tomorrow and no matter what part of the city you live in I will return it too you!!!

Thanks everyone!!
We had a great turn out!!
Big thanks to w squared, raf and Tagg for taking one of the groups!!
Our group did Quirk Ridge and most of Fish West, with only a couple of rigs getting stuck in the mud.
Only damage in our group was my JK horn now sounds like it is a dying cat!!
Hope to see such a good turn out for the next open run!!
