CJA -- St.Paddy’s Day Stocker Run -- [/b]

This is an invitation to CJA Members / Non-members / Newbies.  

The trail in mind is fairly easy, so it will be a great opportunity for people with stock Jeeps to come out and check out what winter wheeling is all about.  Please keep in mind the possibility of vehicle damages is always there even on easy trails.    

When: Saturday Mar. 18th
Where: Breakfast at Smitty’s in Cochrane @ 8:00am
Departure Time: 9:00am and meeting at the gravel pits (Waiporous)
Trail: To be decided pending attendance.

Please note that all vehicles must be in good mechanical condition with front and rear tow points, CB, recovery equip, etc.

We usually plan on getting off the trail and aired up around 5pm and roll into cocharane around 6pm for the optional beer at Boston Pizza.

I'm thinking I'll have time for this run, if I can get my MTs back on. (235 Crappy Tire Wintertracs going to work? :lol: )

Also, if I show, I'll have an FRS and a portable CB for someone to borrow.

What kind of hooks are they Dave? I have to do some looking under the ZJ as I don't know if just any hooks will work. I'm gonna make a call to a place that has some wrecked ZJ and see what he'll soak me for.

Dom...I don't thing your factory brackets will bolt up to a ZJ...but I'll look into it.

There is a chance that myself and a buddy from work would like to join this winter wheeling trip.

Myself:  2001 WJ on 31" muds with recovery points front and rear and the gear to go with it, FRS

Buddy: 90's XJ, 3" lift, 31" MT, winch, FRS, etc

Never ran the trails in the snow so it would be interesting time to say the least.

Yes the Jeep Recovery Unit is coming.. :wink:  :wink:  Joel!!

My Tacoma will be there...so more are welcome...Right Joel???

Yes, this trail run is open to non-jeeps.

Again, each vehicle must meet the minimum requirements and follow proper trail etiquette.

Change of plans looks like I can come out and play but will need to bring one of the kids along, if I come out. Sorry I will have to skip the post run beer and pizza stop.

Joel are you still planing an easy to moderate trail for the day?

There is 1 WJ with 2 people coming or it will be 1 WJ and  1 XJ depending on buddy's inspection of his brakes on the XJ.  So otherwise we will be there ready for adventure.

hi all, name is Al.  I'm a nub here but been watching this thread since the beginning.   spent the last 2 weeks hoping I could make it.  installed CB antenna and got my chains ready, just have to finish packing my tool box.  

Unfortunately my CB didn't arrive from ebay yet, been almost 2 weeks now *sigh*.  hopefully there is still an extra hand-held available as I would really like to come.  Might be the last chance before everything is mud.

@ ryetarded.  sorry to hear that.  been going up here weekly as well.   most are sitting at .969 - summer is gonna be bad.

In terms of gas.... will a full tank from cochrane last or should one bring a gas can???  I am driving a WJ with a 4.0l.

Last few times I went out I filled up before breakfast at Cochrane and I got back to calgary with about 1/2 a tank left and I have a TJ with 4.0L.
