really glad he won last night;
i would have moved from Calgary if Higgins won.........
-
damn. if you told me that prior, i could have fixed the vote :D
hope he turns out to be more like Bronco than Duerr or Ghandi
-
That's why the purple metrosexual shirt yesterday....
-
At least people came out to vote in Calgary, 54% compared to Edmonton's paltry 34%. I was hoping for some new blood in the Mayor’s office here in Edmonton as well. Alas, the numb-minded public who actually bothered to go to the polls were too lazy and uninformed to vote any way but incumbent. ::) Congrats on your new mayor!

Johnny, you owe me a case of beer... BLL Please ;)

There was an election??? Wait, what's a mayor? ;D

who the heck is honest john???

who the heck is honest john???
Good question, but "Honest John" better sell some of those parts in his emporium, and buy me the beer he owes me over the bet he lost.
-
Hmmm, I do owe this new mystery John some beers there Mr. Nipples, maybe we can work something out. He's been renting out garage space to me for some ugly Jeep wheels, the least I could do is supply some lime-ish social lubricant. Next time I'm in Cowtown, I'll make a beer run, we can all talk about this sickness we have called Jeeps.

You would have moved out, and Noel would have had to get some different inspiration. What a tragedy that would have been. ;D

I was seriously pulling for Barb..wait..that doesn't sound right.
Sigh...It's okay Barb. We'll always have Paris.
-
If that 4' nothing bundle of insanity became mayor, I would have moved to Alaska.
It's easier to deal with a dimwit with personality that can be bought, rather than just a dimwit with personality.
At least the Business Professor is our new Lordship the Mayor.
Better than a TV News Anchor sitting on a highchair!
-
I know....but Tubby says she looks great in a pair of thigh-highs and sequins.
-
bite your tongue, Ralphy boy was a new anchor before mayor etc.
i been pulling for Barb for many many years.
-
From some of the interviews of Barb it would appear that her goal wasn't to win the election so much as to make sure Ric didn't get in. Not that I'm a political expert but several of her comments make ya think the whole running for mayor idea wasn't hers.
Nenshi looks to be the type that has his ducks in a row though.
-
Nenshi may be a good candidate , but he is a liberal in disguise , his first announcement , we will build a tunnel under the new landing strip at the airport . B i G $$$$$$$$$$$
-
Don't automatically assume that anyone who spends any money is way over on the left.
A cornerstone of Nenshi's platform was to make getting around Calgary easier. If a candidate actually uses their election platform as a guide for what they do in office, it's a refreshing change.
Of course, only time will tell. Just like every other elected official that gets into office, I'm certain that the #1 priority for Mr. Nenshi will be to remain in office.
