NOS - How hard is it to instal apperently its easy? Also it says its " safe " with stock type engines is this legit and easy to do? Or is it just a gimic - Just a question I didnt know so I just wanted to ask im not saying that I am buying a NOS setup lol
-
its pretty easy if you have a good idea of what your doing .
its just simple to run lines from a tank and then you also want to run wires to a switch and a electronic valve so you can open it when the button is pushed
theres different places you can inject it into can be injected right into your intake manifold or in the cylinder head its self .
but i wouldn't putt nos on any car except a Honda
your also aloud to drive with that tank in your car i would recamend not to have the line hooked up in case you get pulled over for some reason and they check you car then cops can blame speeding on the nos and that is illegal
-
Alright thanks!
So what parts do I all need to use it?
And if anyone needs anything from pick n pull im going there saturday
-
Everything you would need will come in a kit when you buy it. It's best for most to install a switch to turn the system on, and another that sprays only at WOT. If you have just a button, and press it at the wrong time things can go bang in a big hurry. If set up and used properly any vehicle can use it.

friend of mine has everything on NOS.....EVERYthing from dirtbike, joyner, truck to drag truck
NOS works on all, but that dosnt mean its friendly to all..
-
Is this for real? Planning NOS for your jeep that you wheel? How is this close to an off-road related topic?
-
I have seen alot of people do it actually believe it or not lol.
-
dude, do you even know what 'NOS" is? how it works? do you even know what it stands for?
start with one mod;
let say tires.
find a set of tires you want to run on your daily driver jeep. say 33s. great. find a tire that will suit your driving needs and wheeling needs.
do that mod first.
wheel said jeep and drive it for a month or a year.
go on more than one trail ride. LEARN how your vehicle handles, rides etc. alot of us have wheeled stock rigs for a long time and have learnt because of that.
THEN when you want/realize you need other things, like lockers etc, go from there.
stop asking questions like this; i realize you're just anxious (we all are) but you are saying your short on funds (nobody's cheaper than a jeeper) so start with one mod that will stay with your heep for a while (like good tires) go to big to fast then all you have is an expensive pile of non working parts.
there is a very good mod you can do for relatively cheap: thats research. get on some other forums and READ. don't post necessarily asking these questions. but do some good quality research. see what others are doing. read what they 've done.
jeepforum.com, naxja.org are great resources for this.
reasearch buddy! it'll help you in the long run.

Maybe he wants to hit mud holes in a stock jeep at WOT like several of the people on this forum.
-
I am not including money I have set aside for my tires so there is no question im getting good M/T tires. That being said im just looking for one more mod and then im quiting at that after some RESEARCH lol I have decided chipping my jeep aint bad idea I get abit more power and save abit of fuel =)
-
yepper. good plan there bud. the M/T and chip will give you almost 20L/100KM. if you try hard, you might even get 25L /100KM.
good luck.
-
didn`t brink run NOS in his jeep i think he had 1 tons at the time though.
i think it would be nice for big hill climbs but you need to spend the money on everything else first
-
There's a big difference between a heavily customized rig on coilovers and custom axles that's driven by the guy that fabbed it all and an XJ on 33's with a bone-stock drivetrain that gets daily driven.

why does everybody call it NOS, this is not fast and the furious. NOS is a brand name. Nitrous Oxide N2O is whats its called. In my opinion Nitrous is only a mod worth considering if you are planing on mud racing, hill climb racing, drag racing. other than that wheeling with nitrous is kind of a waste of money. A kit will run you $600 + then you have to refill your bottle. its not as simple as connecting a few wires and spraying your intake. what kind of shot you planning on spraying? are you going wet or dry system? if you spay 100 shot i bet you motor will throw rods through the block. you cant run it continuasly, you only have a few minutes of nitrous in a bottle. More oxygen = more fuel = more hp, but if your fuel system does not provide enough fuel your engine is gone. like I said its not a simple add-on if you don't know the limits and other upgrades required for the system to work reliably.
i dont have any experience with chip for the 4.0l, but it is a quick way to gain a few hp (5-10hp). i though there was a product for 4.0L jeep where you can program it your self, its called flashpaq by superchip or something. i always see it advertised in Jp magazine
BTW dont take offence to my post, i'm just posting my op pinion for nitrous on a jeep application.

Damn ! You beat me to it Raf. Only children and people new to the automotive world call it that. Most hot rodders frown on people calling nitrous by that moniker. Most gearheads won't take people seriously if they say " NOS" (I feel sick just spelling it.)
Now ...back on topic. I've used spray on 3 of my drag racing vehicles in the past. I spent a year researching it's uses and how it would best serve me. I hung around several speed shops and drag strips across North America , custom engine buiders etc (pre-internet days) I've run as little as a 75HP shot to a whopping 150HP shot
Would I run it in my tired tractor engine six-banger? HELLS NOOoO !!!
Now, I'm not saying that it CAN'T be done( and for reasonable cash outlay) You can purchase a "Sneaky Pete" system that has a small tank and will maybe eke out 50HP(maybe) Will your tired six hang in there? Maybe? Maybe not? I'd rather not find out the hard way.
A bigger throttle body on a stock 4.O is money well wasted IMHO. So you want to go from a 60MM throttle body to an aftermarket 62MM throttle body? The stock TB is more than up to the task of your flow requirements(rated to 25OHP). Chips? I like barbecue flavoured Pringles.
In the end; it's up to you and what you want to do. It's your Jeep and your money.

because NOS has dominated the market, so it has became the house hold name just like jetskis and seadoo no one calls them jetskis any more unless your old school

No. You don't. That's the problem.

I have a NOS nitrous setup on my tbird. It's fun to use at the track (I won't go into detail about which public roads it's been used on ::) ). The biggest thing you're going to have to be worried about is the tuning of the N20 and fuel. If you're lean, you're going to wreck something. Get your jeep on a dyno (I recommend TecMotion) and make sure that it's safe at wide open throttle.
Start reading here--> http://www.holley.com/TechService/FAQ.asp?category=NOS (http://www.holley.com/TechService/FAQ.asp?category=NOS). Then go and read every technical paper you can find on the internet. Then go and talk with some people who have actually installed it in an application such as yours.
BTW...it's not NOS....It's NAAAAAWWWWWSSSS!!!!!!

maybe he is talking about nos....maybe he wants the brand name. or is that too outrageous..
