Title: Bloody U-Joints.
Post by: Robb on March 04, 2006, 11:08:36 PM
Well, I just got home from a brisk walk from where my YJ decided to leave me again.  Thankfully it is always within about 10 blocks of the house.

This truck has been going through U-joints like a fat kid does smarties.  Literally every 2-4 weeks.  It is either joint on the rear driveshaft.

As soon as it's light out I'll check to see if the bearings are showing any wear or not.  But I'd love to start hearing your ideas on what the heck is happening.

I don't think it's a pinion angle problem, as the truck is basically stock with 31's.  But if the springs are sagged out (which they are) would this be enough to change angles? <shrug>

I'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas.

Thanks,
Robb

Are you getting any vibes when you drive?
Possibly driveshaft is out of balance?

When the joints are new, she is smooth sailing.  But they start to vibrate after a week.
