Good day
I have recently bought a trail ready rig and would like to learn how to use it haha (I owned a mustang gt before). Id like to join the club and hopefully learn how to handle a trail (im used to handling a 1/4 mile)
Its a 2007 v8 commander with a 4" lift, 33x12.5x17 tires, get lost front bumper and a 9000 lb winch. Would like to figure out what else i need on it or in it.
Here are some pics of it but I dont have the roof basket now

Welcome. 33's and a winch is far more than most people start with when they're learning to wheel their rigs, so you're already in faily good shape. To be honest, you probably don't need to get anything more than what you currently have. As long as your rig has a rear tow point and you have some basic items, you're good to go for most trail runs. Items that I'd suggest:
A recovery strap (soft, looped style ends - not metal hooks)
A shovel
Spare food, water, and clothing for everyone in the jeep
A first aid kit
A flashlight
That's really all you need to start with.
Once you've been out a time or three, you can look at other options - tree savers, snatch blocks, shackles, synthetic winch line, CB, winch line extensions...or even vehicles mods if the mood strikes you. For the time being, I'd say wheel you rig the way it is and enjoy it!
If you're looking to start wheeling, please feel welcome to come out to our Toy run on the 12th, and watch in the "open runs" section of this board for information about a trail run that we will be doing on December 26th. It is scheduled to be an "open" run, which means that everyone who meets the minimum vehicle requirements will be welcome.

Nice to see this rig has a new owner who plans to keep wheeling it.
