Title: Need some front locker input

Heres the dealio:

I am running a YJ with 35s on it. I am putting 456s in it and have found a deal on some lockers. i decided to go with an eaton elocker in the rear.

Here is my dilema.....I am considering one of 3 options for the front:
either open, eaton elocker, or aussie locker.

I have limited wheeling experience but am thinking that while im getting gears done in the front i might as well put a locker in so i dont pay twice for installs....

Considering my wheeling experience and all that what are your opinions on what i should do.

Best prices I found are $330 for aussie, and $1000 for elocker

I would say go selectable in the front.  I put an ARB in the front of my Jeep last year, and it was sure nice to have.  HOWEVER, be aware that having lockers both front and rear can sure get you into some INTERESTING situations that can be a little hairy.

Rollovers.  Having just a rear locker will get your pretty far, but having front and rear, as long as at least 1 tire is getting traction and you are not hung up, the jeep will keep going.

However, I am still very glad that I put a locker in the front.

ask jay aka Topheavychevy on some of the forums about rollovers when his spooled rear looped im out on the washboard in waiparous and he rolled his just finished Zr2 s10 on 40's his truck is now all kinds of colors since he fixed it

if it helps, i have swapped a d44 in the front so i do have manual hubs....

Another thing about having a selectable locker in the front is you don't have to fight it when you have to make tight turns, which can be in pain.

Autolocker and a Posi-lok is the poor-man's selectable!

Posi-lock is using a cable instead of vacume for the d-30 right? I was thinking this same thing with a lockright/powertrax in the front of mine. How are the driving characteristics in 3 wheel drive- (or 2 wheel with an open rear diff).any bindup and such? Any other considerations? Also what is better to get first,  front or rear locker?

Yep, that's the one. I've never driven a Jeep with this setup. But I can imagine that 3-wheel drive would be just like having an open diff.
