Title: WJ guys, best 2" lift?
Post by: dubbleJs on January 09, 2011, 01:25:52 PM
We are putting a lil 2" in a buddies '04 WJ, thinking of doing a coil lift instead of spacers as he tows a boat and the stock springs are going to start sagging if not already. Any recommendations? Most of the kits are BB's. I was looking at the BDS lift, full coils and shocks, not sure if it comes with bumpstops.

Also planning on 31's with a 15" or 16" wheel.

ironrockoffroad Jonas,  they have 3" coil kit reasonably priced.... also, zoneoffroad.ca makes a WJ kit as well.   roughcountry makes a 4" too

Thanks Johnny, that IRO lift looks like a good deal. He was planning a 2" to keep it simple, but maybe a 3" is in order. Do you think that kit will cover all our bases with the TBar included?

ya it should be fine.  i dont' know how hard i'd beat on it wheeling though.  mostly i'd do it over a BB because i p ut a BB on my old WJ and the springs were starting to sag. and then sagged more i netted an inch lift with 245x75 tires and a 2" BB....... the new springs will help it immensly.  only other parts would be an A-arm spacer for the rear axle/wishbone.  i'd probably replace that joint to; they have a tendency to clunk over time......

its worth lookin at. i paid 499$ for my RE budget boost when i got one......

Ok cool, we will probably go with the iro 3". Is that a-arm spacer necessary right away or in time once joints start wearing...? I'm a WJ noob  :P
He wont wheel this rig hard, just a bit here and there while camping etc
