Got a little bit of an issue.
I had to wait to get paid for this job I did for "Chad" who hired me and 2 other people.
The 2 others were his friends.
It was a 4 day job.
The organization wasnt going to pay Chad until the job was fully complteted.
I am not to sure if we were working under his company name or if it was a sole proprietorship deal.
Either way I was promised an amount of cash.
We were waiting on 2 simple peices to be mailed and installed in order to get paid.
It comes down to this.
I text him on Dec 23 about the money, it went ignored.
I text him again Jan 15 about how xmas and new years went, it was replied to and immediatly goes into hes barely getting by and hes working temp.
I text him back and get direct and forward with him and it goes ignored.
He is not in Calgary but up north.
What should I do?
First off I know his name as something else thats a nickname. I dont even know his real name.
Secondly I know what building he lives in and where he parks in the parkade, but I dont know his apartment #.
Should I text him back, asking what his address and real name is?
Should I just let it go, give it a couple weeks and ask again for the money.
He gives no explanation to why I am not getting paid. He doesnt say he never got paid. I have a good guess he got paid and ripped me off. I want to do the right thing, every text I text him I let sit for a day before I send and I change it to be passive/aggressive to aggressive without threats.

did you sign anything, entering into any kind of contract with the guy?
try actually calling him.
do not stop calling him until he picks up. i mean consecutive calls. fill his mail box with messages.
repeat until he talks to you.
do not go 15 mins without calling him.
get a phone card and call from outside numbers if you need to.
continue filling inbox.
if this doesn't work........... i'd throw eggs in his air vents so it gets nice and stinky. maybe some milk too.

If you have it you can try and contact his friends for his real name. You can get a lot of information with what you have now. Knowing where he lives and what he drives is a plus for you.
Was he the one you were doing work for or was it a third party that hired "Chad" and you were hired by him? If this is the case contact the original customer and get the info that way.
Once you have his real name you have a lot more options.

When did you finish the job? Sometimes organizations can take a few months to pay. You could always ask "Chad" for more details, has he been paid, if not when does he expect to be paid, maybe you could set a date with him to be paid. What I've found works is give him a bigger sob story than he's giving you. Maybe you can guilt him in to paying you.

wait at his apparment and ask someone that comes out if they know what appartment number he lives in

If you know where he parks his car go and ask the magment for his name, they might give it to you. Without a name its pretty hard to do much about it. Is they paper work saying you worked for him? If not you might be out of luck. Sorry to say that, have you checxked with a lawyer yet, they might be able to help you out.

Leave his vehicle on blocks with an "IOU tires, UOM my money" note under the wiperblade. collateral could make him see things a little more fairly. Might have to chain the wheels to a cement column in the parkade so you're not actually stealing them though, but make them visible and leave a note on them too, so the other tenants see that he's a turd
I heard that eggs in the fuel don't play well with injectors as well.
