Title: Autobody recommendation
Post by: tmalaher on January 31, 2011, 07:57:17 PM
I've got some rust above the windshield on my '94 Cherokee Sport.

I'm looking to have it fixed. Got a quote from Western Paint & Bodyworks and from Maaco. Maaco is half the price, but I"m nervous about using them.

Anyone have any recommendations on either of the above, or anywhere else for that matter?

Thanks!

I have gone to halmark autobody, great people, hard working, and I think it is still a family business for a long time.
they do good work too. not on the cheap side, but good.

sandpaper, elbow grease, Por-15.  That's what I'm doing this spring.  Gonna do the entire roof and rockers though.

+1 on the POR15. Expensive, but worth every penny. Did a whole truck frame and underside, as well as the cabs interior before I restored it. Can crack that stuff with a sledge hammer when its dry, and it wont even show a mark. Hasn't chipped, hasn't peeled, and hasn't rusted! Really remarkable stuff !
