So the CRTC has said that they will review their decision to allow bandwidth capping for 60 days, which is fine for all of us in cities in Canada. The problem is that some rural internet suppliers are going ahead with this stupidity and bending over their customers, regardless of what the CRTC decides, because there is little choice when you live out in the boonies.
Accordingly, Extreme Pacer has started his own petition to deal with Xplornet, a company that received a lot of money from the government to provide high speed internet to rural areas and who is starting bandwidth capping so they can get more customers and not upgrade their network to handle the increased demand. This is the type of greedy bad business practices that everyone should go after.
Accordingly, please sign his petition at http://www.gopetition.com/petition/42649.html (http://www.gopetition.com/petition/42649.html) and pass it on to everyone you know. We have to stop these thieves hiding behind utility companies wherever they emerge.

Isn't this the company that is launching Canada's first 4G network? And of all locations, they are actually focusing on rural communities, spending about $150 million on this project...
I say create a new petition to bring 4G to me and my city, never mind the rural places, technology just slows them down ;D

You use the service, pay for what you use. Rural internet costs more than putting the same infrastructure in a large center, if you want to live in a rural area you should be willing to live with the issues that might come up and not expect everyone else to subsidize you.
