Link don't work :(

Don't copy and paste the link. Open the picture in FB, right click on the imagine and click properties. Copy and paste that URL for the direct link address. It should end in .jpg if you did it correctly.

-
It is kinda funny someone took the time to write that out about something that doesn't even affect them.
-
Shame on you for not having mud flaps....... ;)
-
what can i say im a rebel
-
What a douche! I got a bumper sticker put on my last xj from some environmental group saying no one should drive suv's.... took forever to peel it off....
-
shity .. i checked to see if this person did anything to my jeep but i didnt see anything
-
What a douche bag... I travel deerfoot trail everyday and the only rocks I get tossed at me are from the minivans!
-
my windshield is just mangled and its all from cars
-
Dick move. Most trucks throw the rocks over my jeep or hit the roof. A lowered car threw a rock at my window today
-
I've had all my largest rock chips from cars. Weird that they see one jacked jeep and wham it must be us.
-
HAHAHA!!! That was frickin' hilarious! Good thing you are a fairly laxed guy, Jeff.
Gonna buy some mudflaps?
-
i had to laugh at it .. what else can i do ..
and no mud flaps until the law tells me to get some
-
Ay-oh! Oh-Ay! let's not jump the gun here...
Lets start with the location description...
Sounds very familiar.
Does it look like this place?

I got 2 rock chips from following a small car yesterday(a bunch of car lenghts behind too), I only really threw alot of crap when I was playing in some mud and first went out on the road at higher speeds(first 15 seconds or so as the mud came off).
most of the rocks that would come out of your tires would likely not just cause rock chips, they would make holes, but they would likely not even stay in the tread that well so it would not be likely to do so.
-
Any way you want to slice it, the perception of the public is lifted jeeps with big tires throw rocks. i feel the same way as the guy that wrote the letter. i don't care that other cars throw rocks, but when i see a lifted jeep with no mudflaps it bothers me. When i am riding in the Spring, i develop a hate for all lifted big tire jeeps that have no flaps.

it does seem that way. lol.

Hmm, that note seemed rather strongly worded for a random parking lot note. I'll bet it was somebody you know pulling your chain.

I agree he was a jerk for leaving a note like that.
However, why not get some mud flaps so that your jeep is legal. We spend enough on the other parts for our jeeps but most of us are to cheep to get a set of mud flaps. Yes, cars and mini vans chuck rocks and break windshields that does not make it ok for us to do it. I don’t get the logic that you have to wait to get a ticket or get told by a police officer (the law) that you have done something wrong before you fix it. Obviously you have fabrication skills. I am sure you can come up with a way that you can make them removable for the trail.
None of us will ever make our lifted jeeps conform 100% to the laws but part of it is in the perception that we have made an effort. Yes I have removable mud flaps and no my fender flares do not conform :-[. I should fix that sometime this summer. Another mod to work on.

he was a jerk for leaving a note like that.
I felt like one for like two minutes...
I was taking the girlfriend to Banff for Valentines Day when I happened to pass a Jeep that I know very well. I made a bet with the girlfriend that Jeff would read the note and get mad. He would post up a pic and rant on the CJA about it that night and voila!
Thank-you for being so damn predictable Jeff. HOOK...LINE...AND SINKER...
ps. you parked in a lot that said "1 hour parking only" tsk,tsk ;D
-
i wasnt mad and wouldnt get mad .. if someone wrote that note and MENT it there not worth my time cuz there to much of a pus to stand up in my face and tell me i did a hack job on my half cab
and when i got home and showed the room mate the note i told her it had to be someone from the site . for some reaosn i just knew it
as for parking .. there 50 spots at a petro i dont think they have that kind of business to worry about parking there longer then a hour

In fairness, such flaps ARE required to the axle center point in Alberta and your flares appear to be illegal as well. Tires cannot project outside of covering bodywork/flares. This topic and the section of the motor vehicle act has been posted before. I have Warn's 7" flares and flaps at all four corners to remain in compliance.
That said, both aspects of damage to my TJ's windshield were done by passenger cars and virtually every one of these tiny dick lifted trucks that never leave pavement are in violation of the act while they have weekend blitzes of Jeeps at Prairie Creek for flares and flaps.

One more reason to get a locking hood latch...some wang like that guy could easily put sand into your oil.
I had a buddy with a loud bike in Vancouver...one morning he went to start his bike and noticed the oil cap on the ground. He (wisely) didn't start it and had it towed to a shop. They partially dissasebled the engine and found rocks and dirt. I guess someone was sick of hearing that bike start up every morning.
The biggest rock I ever had thrown at me was off a dually truck, I think it was stuck between the tires, it was the size of a tennis ball. Huge windshield damage but didn't go through the glass.

A few years ago a guy was actually killed near Grande Prairie by a rock from a gravel truck that actually DID come through his windshield it was so large.

I wouldn't worry too much about parking there . I'm sure that sign is only meant for the 75-100 vehicles that park on that service road daily to go to work or skiing. It's not meant for you.

its life ..
and i see lots of people are up set about the no mudflaps and i can see some of there points .. but at the sametime you have graders and loaders ripping down the highway at 80 km's per hour and there running on 50 inch tires 16 inchs wide with no pertection at all
at least my tub covers 60% of my tire . mud flaps will be installed in the future when i am running large tires and more width as well
