I tried using the search function and didn't have much luck... Anyways wondering if Factory rims off a liberty will bolt onto my '98 TJ? From what I can find they are both 5x4.5. I realize I might have some clearance issues given the Liberty rims might have a larger Diameter. Any thoughts?? Just looking for a change on my TJ.

I'm running Liberty rims on my winter wheels for my XJ. Yes they're 5x4.5 bolt pattern. I did have issues though: the backspacing on the Liberty rims is huge, so the tires are sucked so far into the wheel wells, that the rear tires were HALF A CENTIMETRE from the leaf springs, and the fronts would rub on the control arms with three quarters a turn of the steering wheel! The solution to this? Wheel spacers. I'm using 2" spacers all the way around, got them cheap off ebay ($100 for two pairs) and of course when it came time to put on my summer rubber (33" mudders with 3.75" backspaced rims) I leave the spacers on for a wider stance :)

Thanks for the input. I currently have 1.25" spacers and might have to do a test fit. I'm looking at some wheels at a wreckers and will see if may be I can yank the spare off the rear to see if it will be spaced out enough. Thanks Again.

not sure what kind of price you are getting at the wrecker, but it seems a good rule of thumb for tj wheels is they are 50$ each, so a set of 4 can usually be had for 200 and sometimes you can even get rubber that will last a season or two at that price..
