Can't Decide on Tires! Hi everyone, I just grabbed myself a pair of wheels ( 17 x 8 Procomp 7005 ) and Im on the hunt for a set of 33" tires. Currently I'm debating between KM2's and Duratracs. Please chime in and help me out which direction i should go. ( 70% Daily Driver, 30% Offroading )

Id run the KM2s for the summer, and duratracs in the winter. At least thats what Im planning on doing for my next set of tires :) W Squared and SpecialK both run their Duratracs in the winter, and both of them have had nothing but good things to say about them for snow and winter driving. However for the hard pack and silty trails we have here, I dont think they would be the best tread pattern for alberta trails in the summer. Just my .02 cents.

Go with the Duratracs and you won't be disappointed. We currently have both tire choices on our work trucks and I really like the Goodyears. Sure, they don't look as cool as the KM2's but be honest with yourself. You said 70% daily driver and the Duratracs have excellent siping for adverse winter weather. I've been bagging the crap out of 1ton GM's equipped with these tires during spring brake-up, and their ability to self clean is excellent. I found the KM2's to be a little on the noisy side on the highway while the Goodyears were suprisingly quiet .

My km2's were excellent in the mud, loud on the road and had to rotate them like every oil change or they would start to cup. Currently running MTZ's and no issues with them at all yet. Accept they are loud.

Duratracs will do 80% of what a "true" MT will do in the summer, and will run circles around them in the winter. 33" Duratracs will do very well on trails in this area.

X2. My boss gave/sold me a set of 33 duratracs for cheep to test out last season. I was told to test the crap out of them. And let me tell ya i put them throw some pretty harsh treatment out on the trail and they held up great got me anywhere i wanted to go. They are awsome on road aswell i didn't balance the ones i had and my jeep and could take it up to 110+ with no vibration.
Its a great allround tire on and off road
Ps i work at fountain tire

Isn't Goodyear having a sale on Duratracs right now? 4 for the price of 3 or something like that?
I have not heard a bad word about the Duratracs myself
