Post by: lizard230 on May 03, 2011, 01:09:44 AM
first of all. tj doors on a yj, possible?

second, does a stock 87 yj have air conditioning?
If so, how can i turn that into onboard air

first, no TJ doors ain't gonna work on YJ. latches are different.

second: don't know it may or may not have it.

third, if it DOES have AC you can gut the AC system and run it a tank. i just finished mine, its slick.

if you don't have OBA, ya gotta fiddle with brackets and crap off an XJ to make it work.  thats how mine is setup. i couldn't tell ya what came off what though.

if you have AC, you can come take a look at my setup anytime

JP mag ran an article a while back on how to swap TJ doors to a YJ, if I remember correctly the latches need to be changed over as well, and you may loose the ability to use your factory hard and soft tops.

Google - TJ doors on YJ for more info

X2 with what John said I wanted to keep Ac in my zj so I picked up a viair o.b.a setup, you could also mess around finding a York compressor. I might have an air tank kicking around in my garage message me if interested.
