Title: Passenger Side Air Bag

The last week or so the passenger side air bag "off" light has been flashing on and off in my 02 TJ, however the key switch is clearly in the "on" position".  Where do I start to look to figure out this issue, as I do drive with a passenger, my girlfriend, occasionally and it would be terrible if the passenger side air bag was faulty in some way.

Check the fuse....... if it has a passenger seat sensor it could also be that, I believe that if the seat sensor reads a weight more than (x) but less than (x) it will shut off the bag as well.

be careful a short in the system could also cause the bag to go off unexpectedly. if it isn't a fuse or bad switch it may be best to take it in and have it looked at.

I have the same issue. Mines off more than it's on. Let me know what you find out.

If there is a sensor on the seat where would it be located?  I had a set of booster cables stuck under the seat and I may have pulled something lose or bent something when I grabbed it out...

There is no sensor in the seat. I know that because I took out my seats and there's no wires. So what else can it be?

You sure theres no sensor? It started right after I pulled those damn jumper cables from under the seat... however if it is a fuse does anyone know off hand which one it is, or is it pretty obvious once you look at the fuse box?

Yup no sensor. I dont see how a fuse could cause it. If it was blown the light would be on constant. When ever my fenders come in, Ill get Jay to scan my jeep to see if its an impact sensor and let you know the results.

there should be 2 fuses marked for airbags, should be obvious. I doubt it would be a blown fuse, but it could be loose or have a bad connection.

How can I fit a D30 in my jeep? I need my truck for that one.

Fold the front seat forward and removed the back. Minus the grease and the giant PITA of trying to lift it, should work great!  ;D

You could just bring your jeep over and get the axle later.

So this problem just went away after I had a passenger in my vehicle the other day... strange!
