Title: Need a hand with new brake lines/ bleed
Post by: Anton on May 14, 2011, 10:54:05 PM
hey guys so i am getting new brake lines for my JK (extended crown ones all 4)  on Monday and i am going to need them to be installed and a bleed. i looked around it looks easy to bleed them nothing hard ,  looked how much it will cost me to install it and it cost more then i payed for it lol. With my luck doing them by my self i will get air in them and mass it all up and it is my only wheels soo....

I was wondering if there is some here that can find in there hart  time to install them/ tech me. I will pay for the time ( hope it is cheaper then going to a shop) and i will bring what ever i can and necessary  for this necessary  process if needs to be.

I am sorry that I posted this, I understand that that topic was answered be for probably I did google it and found step by step how to do it. I just do not have actual exp doing it especially when I drive my kid in my jeep, do not want to take the risk by doing it.
Again sorry for posting this newbie task.

Hahaha yup Knox was referring to how your post title was shortened, look at the picture and you will see what he meant.

As for the brake lines, I am out of town this weekend but if you still need a hand sometime this week or next weekend I would happy to help out.  Hell I might even order up a set of Stainless lines and do mine as well.

All you need is a bleeder kit (I am sure Napa or Princess Auto has them and as I recall they are cheap)

Farthest to nearest, compress, open, close, repeat until you see no bubbles.  That is pretty much it.

I think I can speak for the bulk of the people here when I say that nobody has a problem with your post (other than worrying about ladies underwear). You want to do the work yourself, you've done some research as to how to do it, you aren't looking for any handouts, and you're offering to pay someone for their time to teach you. All of those are good things, and I think that you'll find that when you approach mechanical problems in that way, folks are going to be willing to provide you with some guidance.

Shawn-don't you already have a set of stainless that you got from Stan when you ordered your lift?

Ha Anton you really need to read more of my posts......I work for booze, I sell stuff for booze, hmmmm seems to me there is a disturbing trend here.......

Seriously though, I didn't learn by myself, people helped me in a variety of ways so to me it's just paying it forward.

Saturday might work for me, will know better mid week.

haha too funny Anton :P

Was a perfectly legitimate question, I was just poking fun, hell I wouldn't mind learning this myself, so maybe I supply the booze for shawn, you show up with your new lines and we get him to teach us both, Shawn let me know if that works for you, I think I remember what you like

sounds like a jeep mod party, with booze! let me know if you guys need help, and don't buy break fluid, it makes things "bust" (can't resist the bra joke) get brake fluid.
