Last night my '94 grand cherokee started up fine, then stalled right out. I started it back up and it stalled right out again and now wont start at all. Sometimes when I turn the key it sounds like it wants to catch for a few seconds then just cranks away...it's got the 4.0L engine and hasn't had any previous problems and no check engine lights came on.
I'm going to start simple and swap the fuel filter & rotor/cap and just go from there.
Any thoughts/suggestions?
Cheers

If it went like that with no warning, ignition stuff is a good place to start.
I'd try a little prime down the TB just to make sure you are getting fuel.
If all that fails, you can try a TPS, but they usually give you warning before they go (stalling, poor return to idle, etc etc), but you never know.
Good luck

Yeah, it's your $#$%, $%^%, ^&%$, piece of you-know-what ignition coil.
They fail all the time, twice on me now. About $35 part....
Everything sounds fine, but it sounds like the engine isn't receiving any fuel? Nope, it's just that it isn't receiving any current to spark the plugs.
Been there, done that.

Looks like it's the fuel pump...a few taps with a hammer while my buddy was cranking it and she fired right up and starts runs fine now!
Now the question is how long will it last before it goes again... :?: :?:
