Vehicle is a 2002 jeep grand cherokee overland, 4x4, 4.7L HO.
My air conditioner wasn't working (wouldn't come on at all) so I took it to the Kal-tire at chinook and they said it was the condenser fan motor. They also said the condenser and fan are one unit and can't be bought separately and they cost $1400.
I looked around online and found that problem on the dodge rams but never on the cherokee. I started snooping around on my vehicle and couldn't even find the condenser fan motor on the vehicle anywhere. The fan is definitely not on the condenser coil. The only fan motor I found was the main cooling fan.
Has anyone else had this problem or does anyone know where the fan motor is? I can't even find the part in stores.

ok, first. you say a/c doesnt come on at all. how do you know this? no cool air? no fan blowing anything? second, condensor fan motor? thats lame. the only fan your condensor has is the rad fan. yours may have a hydraulic, electric and/or mechanical fan. and possibly a combination of both. i cant say for certain because i dont have your jeep in front of me, and i see so many they all blend and look the same. throw us a bone if you want help. more details please.

are you sure the system is charged with refrigerant if the pressure is to low the compressor wont even try to work

Already helped him out, guys.
The condensor fan on my WJ sits in front of the rad fan, right up against the rad. Figured it would be the same on his. Yes, Eric, I went out to my WJ and checked.
;D ;)
