hello i have a ford 8.8 rear diff in my jeep but do not know what type of gear oil to use . my oil is realy dirty and would like to change it
-
I just use 80w90 standard dino oil. I have an ARB so i don't know if you have a limited slip and if the ford LS requires an additive.
-
if you have a ford limted slip differential you will need the proper ford lsd additive. or a diff fluid that has the additive in it. the ford additive is a small bottle of blue fluid that stinks like you wouldnt believe.

this stuff is very important my friend changed his gear oil in his ford and it only lasted 2months till the diff had to be completly replaced
