03 TJ, 4.0 Standard
The dealership says I need to replace the entire steering column $$$$$$
It appears I may be able to order a part from the US but am not a fan of the PITA.
Also have seen that there are other steering columns that I may be able to cannibalize at the wreckers for this part.
Any one deal with this before? and have a better solution or know what vehicles I can cannibalize for the part.

For any one who ever has this happen to them and uses the search function.....
Most Chrysler vehicles from 97 thru 03 appear to use the same piece.
you will need a torx bit with the security hole on it.
The biggest challenge is to remove the ignition cylinder without a key, once done the part pretty much falls out.
I spent $10 at pick n pull for the pin and a few other odds and ends was there for all of 20 mins and had the new pin back in in less than 30 mins.
Any one remotely mechanically inclined could fix this themselves but some patience is needed to get the springs to line up.
Chrysler wanted nearly $1000 for a new column and they do not sell just the pin, I figure by the time I paid for the part and install I saved nearly $1200 by doing it myself, and was done by lunch including travel
