Title: Sat 6th mclean
Post by: BrokenAxle on July 31, 2011, 08:33:37 PM
Anyone interested in a run either of these days.  My kids are begging me to take them back out.  Would need someone to lead for a relaxing kid friendly day.

Thanks!
Dave

what ever time works for who ever wants to lead.  If no one wants to lead then we will find our own trails!

we'll call it saturday at mclean then by popular demand...

WK2008,

You can ride shotgun with me if you want (stock 2007 Unlimited Rubicon). I live outside Millarville though. So, you would have to meet me at the store at Mclean.

Let me know.

Jeff

What time do we want to meet at the store at Mclean? I am up for earlier rather than later just in case we have issues on the trail. Say, 8:00 am?

Thanks,

Jeff

You could ride with me too if you'd like, I'm in copperfield so could meet anywhere in between.  Only problem is the 2 sometimes screamy kids in the back...

Would 9 at the store work for you? I just have to get the kids ready and they really drag their butts at that hour of the day.

Thanks Dave. I am going to jump in with Jeff but I would certainly like to wheel with you in the future as I would like to compare a ZJ to my WK. See you out there.

Would this a newbie friendly run? I've got a 98 zj with 3" lift and 31" mtz's. Was out last weekend and would love to have someone to follow.

Quirk Ridge....  makes for long day,  some backtracking,  worth the view though.

Quirk sounds good to me. Been to the base of the trail then my friend blew a tcase so we had to call it.

Is quirk ridge a stocker friendly??

It is really dry out there right now, so as stocker friendly as that trail gets. Basically it is the 101 trail (if you take fisher west), except with a detour to quirk. Couple fun hills depending which way you tackle the trail, some muddy areas, but nothing that can't be driven around given how dry it is.

I know this trail was very difficult for those running the 101 some time back, but it has become doable again by stock vehicles and is completely passable when i ran it earlier in July.

What an amazing day today guys. A few challenging spots and some simply amazing scenery. Thanks to Jeff for letting me ride shotgun and get a chance to get out again.

PS. Colin got his jeep stuck but I still think it was just the Toyos not the driver :)

Definately the Toyos....

I'm going to blame the "spotters". That looks really deep, you should try it.

(I do know its a TOW truck not a toe truck but my iphone disagrees)
Yeah they were pretty quick actually, were there within 45 min of me calling.

Turns out it destroyed the passenger side axle seal in the process :( thats turning out to be really fun to put in haha
